Compare QuickQRC With Other QR Code Generators

Most QR code generators look the same on their homepage. The differences show up later: when a trial ends, when you need to change a printed link, or when you check what a “free” plan really includes. This page lays out what QuickQRC gives you, what a typical subscription-first generator does, and where we are honestly not the right pick.

Six questions to ask any QR generator before you print

Use these on us or on anyone else. Each one comes from a problem people usually find only after the print run.

Is this code static or dynamic?

A dynamic code depends on the provider’s server for every scan. Some generators make dynamic codes by default without saying so.

QuickQRC: the free generator only makes static codes. Dynamic codes live in your Pro dashboard and are labelled as such.

What happens when the trial or plan ends?

Look for the words “deactivated”, “paused” or “redirected” in the terms.

QuickQRC: there is no trial, and a printed code is never switched off.

Is there a scan cap?

A popular poster can burn through a monthly scan allowance in a weekend.

QuickQRC: no plan caps scans. You can add your own limit to a single code.

Do I get a vector file?

Printers want SVG or another vector format for large sizes. Some services keep it for paying users.

QuickQRC: SVG download is free, alongside PNG, PDF and EPS.

Will it scan once it’s styled?

Logos, light colours and fancy shapes can break a code. Few generators test this for you.

QuickQRC: run it through the scannability tester and contrast checker before printing.

What does it know about the people who scan?

Your customers scan the code, so their data is part of the deal too.

QuickQRC: static scans never reach us. Dynamic scans are counted without storing IP addresses.

Honest Advice · No. 0004

Pick QuickQRC if…

  • You want a free code that will still work in ten years, with no account.
  • You need payment, Wi-Fi, eSIM, 2FA or GS1 codes that most free tools don’t offer.
  • You want to edit a few printed links for free, without a trial clock.
  • You care how much your scanners are tracked.
  • You want to test a styled code before it goes to print.

Look elsewhere if…

  • You need links on a bare domain such as yourbrand.com. Custom domains work on a subdomain like go.yourbrand.com.
  • Your team needs the dashboard in a language other than English.
  • You want a native phone app. QuickQRC runs in the browser on any device.
  • You want per-scan analytics on a static code. That needs a dynamic code, here or anywhere.
  • You need a paid plan today. Pro and Business billing isn’t open yet; the free plan works now.

Comparison questions

QuickQRC keeps two products apart. Static QR codes (48 types) are made in your browser with no account, no watermark and no expiry, and they never touch our servers. Dynamic codes live in a separate account with a free plan of 5 editable codes. Many generators blend the two, so a code that looked free turns out to depend on a trial.

No. Static codes have no server behind them, so there is nothing to switch off. Dynamic codes made on QuickQRC keep redirecting even if a paid plan lapses; you can lose editing and analytics until you renew, but a printed code is never deactivated.

No. The free plan has no end date. It includes 5 dynamic codes, 1 hosted page, scan analytics kept for 3 months and 1,000 API requests a month, for as long as you use it.

No plan caps scans. If you want a cap on one code, for a limited offer for example, you can set a scan limit on that code yourself.

No. Static and dynamic codes both send the person scanning straight to your destination.

Custom short-link domains are not available yet, the site and dashboard are in English only, and there is no native mobile app; everything runs in the browser. Static codes also have no scan analytics, because no server sees the scan. If one of those is a must-have, compare carefully.

A printed dynamic code from another service always points at that service's short link, so it can't be transferred. What you can do is create a QuickQRC code for the same destination and use it on your next print run. Pro and Business accept a CSV import to create many codes at once.
