Fill in whatever fields you have; only the name really matters. Scanning the finished code opens the phone's 'add contact' screen with the details pre-filled, with no app or internet connection required.
Reach for the full vCard type instead when you need a contact photo, multiple phone numbers with distinct labels, separate structured address components, or embedded social links. For a plain business-card scan that just needs to land in someone's contacts, MeCard is the leaner choice.
